John Wick, Indo Culture, and sport psychology with Martin de Jong

"People keep asking me if I’m back and I haven’t really had an answer but now, yeah I’m thinking I’m back." In today's episode, I speak to Mart de Jong about the John Wick movie series. Martin is a fellow Indo ( AKA Dutch-Indonesian or Indo Belanda), who is a Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) instructor specializing in the Dutch klewang (a historical weapon from the Dutch East Indies). In other words, this guy knows how to use a sword! First, we talk about Indo culture. Then, we talk about the mental skills involved in stage combat, the trauma and emotional issues demonstrated in the movie series, themes of loyalty and honor, fight strategy, love of dogs, and more!
